Natural black chia seeds are small, whole, oval seeds from a flowering plant. They have a fairly neutral taste and a crunchy texture. They can be added to pastries, salads or over yogurt, for example. When added to liquid, they absorb up to 12 times their weight. They become gelatinous from the outside and tend to stick.
